Do you want to cut down or stop your plastic bag usage?
Let’s talk about how to change habits.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲.
If you do sport, you know that you are more likely to do an early morning run/ swim/ gym session if you packed all your gear the night before.
If you don’t, you know that if you go to the shop without a list, you usually end up buying things you don’t need, and forgetting the things you do.
It’s the same with shopping and dodging those plastic bags!
You 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 to have bags in your backpack/ purse/ car/ scooter before you go to the shop.
Alternatives to bags:
– Boxes
– The bags you have accumulated that are bursting out of your cupboards
– Fabric bags
– Shopping trolley
– Wooden crate
– Backpack
At the beginning, you will be building the habit of REFUSING a bag at the check-out counter/ till. It is simple, but suuuper important to build this habit.
Just say “I don’t need a bag” OR “I have my own bags”. Depending on where you live, you might have to say it a couple of times (if people are used to reaching for that plastic).

DO:
– Plan ahead
– Go to the shop prepared
– Practice saying NO
– Be kind to yourself if you slip up at the beginning
DON’T:
– Use your thick shop-bought reusable bags as rubbish bags. They take EVEN longer to biodegrade.
– be guilted into taking a plastic bag.
– be rude to the server.
– Give up!
