⁣
Prepackaged salad have a bad reputation for causing salmonella. Why not try growing your own without putting raw sewage on it. It’s easy to grow! ⁣
⁣
Alternatively, find a farmer’s market where you can buy lettuce unwrapped.⁣

Kale often comes unpackaged.
⁣
How many times have you bought bagged salad, dumped it in the bottom drawer and forgot about it until it was a liquid brown mush… straight in the bin.⁣
⁣
Plastic bags are meant to prolong the shelf life of foods, but in effect, it adds greatly to food wastage. ⁣
⁣
We buy more than we need. More than we can eat in a reasonable time.⁣
⁣
If you are relying on prepackaged food, ask yourself why.⁣
⁣
Perceived time constraints? Ease? Food deals (starter, main, dessert, wine? I’m looking at youΒ @marksandspencerΒ ! )⁣.
⁣
Why not take the time to choose your own food, cook without preservatives, excess salt or sugar?⁣
⁣
Once you cut out overly packaged food, you may even see a change in your waistline.⁣

⁣
Make your own hummus, pizza, lasagna.⁣
⁣
Do batches and freeze them. But don’t make more than you can eat in a month. ⁣

OR, find a shop where you can take a container and fill it with hummus, tzatziki and all the other good stuff.
